Venue Information

The ceremony and reception will be held in late afternoon/evening at the secluded Kijamii Overlook at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park (AKA The Wild Animal Park) in Escondido, CA.

The venue is outdoor/covered and ADA accessible.

Our wedding Ceremony starts at 4:00pm at Kijamii Overlook, but your Safari Park adventure can begin much earlier if you’d like - Your wedding invitation is also an all-day pass to the Safari Park, which opens at 9:00am. You will have full access to the park including a ticket for the Africa Tram.

Arriving at the Park

Please arrive no later than 3:00pm to give you plenty of time to park and make your way to the ceremony & reception site.

At 3:00pm, a table will be set up at the entrance where guests may check in and pick up their park tickets. After you have checked in, a tram will take you to the ceremony site.

If you are interested in visiting the park prior to the wedding, tickets will be available at will call prior from 9:00am until 3:00pm.

Parking Information

Your mailed invitation includes a voucher for complimentary parking. Please present this voucher to the booth attendant when you arrive to the Safari Park. If you happen to lose your voucher, you can download another here

There are no reserved parking spaces for event guests. However, for a Friday later in the day, there should be plenty of space relatively close to the entrance.

If you plan on leaving your car overnight: Please make a note of where you parked and let the staff know when you check in. The park recommends picking up your car by 8:00 am the next morning to avoid paying any parking fees.

How should we dress?

Cocktail/dressy-casual is fine, tie optional. Be comfy and wear comfy shoes, especially if you're planning on arriving early to roam around and enjoy the park before the wedding.

Will vegetarian/vegan food options be available?

Of course! If you have any other dietary restrictions or allergies, please note it on your RSVP.

Will there be an open bar?

You bet - and it's a really cool bar disguised as a baobab tree. Although the bar is fully hosted, I’m sure the staff will have a tip jar out, so bring some cash if you feel so inclined to tip.

A 21+ celebration

While we love love love your children, this will be an adults-only celebration!

HOWEVER... If you or your sitter would like to spend some time at the park with your kids before the wedding, please reach out. We can snag some extra admission for you.

You will have full access to the park including a ticket for the Africa Tram. Additional experiences like a Wildlife Safari, or the Balloon Safari are a la carte and can be purchased at the park or online ahead of time at a discount here: Safari Park
